About Podčejk
From a building built in 1911 out of love for family, we are now building a modern wedding venue where tradition and nature are combined with comfort and a professional approach.
We are constantly working on the building and its condition to meet the higher demands of today. Let's arrange a meeting on site and you will understand why we fell in love with it, just like hundreds of couples who said their "I do" here.

History of Podcejk
The history of the building dates back to 1911, when František Dědina, a miller from the opposite mill, built a villa here based on the Tsars' selo model for his family. The villa belonged to the family until 1952, after which it was sold by the owner's daughter to a private individual. Around 1972, the Bezno State Estate became the owner, who first renovated the villa into a restaurant and later added an accommodation section. After 1989, the building was rented to several people. The "Hunting Lodge" Podčejk was established for business purposes in its current form in 1998.

The history of the place where the building stands dates back to the 14th century. On a steep promontory in the park, there once stood the Čejky Castle and the small church of St. Catherine from the mid-14th century. It was last mentioned in 1668 as a ruin, apparently destroyed by fire. At the beginning of the 20th century, parts of the masonry up to a height of 4 m were still preserved. Archaeological finds of graves from the Přemyslid period were recorded under the church.
Across the valley on the hill above the hunting lodge Podčejk stood Malkov Castle, mentioned in 1354. It was last mentioned in 1599, after which it apparently disappeared. Today, the Malkov locality (sometimes also Moukov) has no surface finds.
The local landscape is suitable for leisurely and relaxing tourism and the wider area offers many sights. Both on one side in the nearby village of Strenice and towards Mladá Boleslav in Krnsko. Here is one of the most massive Czech viaducts, the three-arched viaduct of the Czech Railways from 1924. The bridge is 152 meters long, with the three arches having a span of 28 meters and a dihedral of 12 meters.
The Church of St. Bartholomew dates from the 14th century and at the entrance on the right side in the wall there are four unique tombstones of the lords of the Klusák family from the mid-16th century.
Several Baroque sandstone statues have been preserved in the village and its surroundings.
In Jizerní Vteln it is possible to visit one of the most fabulous neo-Renaissance castles in Bohemia, Stránov Castle.
